Learning Objectives:
Understand the types of glass approved for use in all-glass entrance and door systems, both interior and exterior. Includes insulating all-glass doors, energy codes, and NFRC ratings for custom insulating glass doors.
Review the National Glass Association's Heavy Glass Door Guide, including applicable codes, limitations, and maximum size recommendations.
Gain familiarity with types of frameless door access hardware including panic handles, magnetic locks, and passage locks.
Identify code considerations for panic handles and door controls, with reference to building/fire codes (ANSI/BHMA) and health/safety standards.
