Dinner Presentation:

David Salazar, Chief Facilities Executive for Los Angeles Community College District will show us what is planned with the Measure CC Bond funding approved by voters in November 2016. The Build-LACCD website shows numerous projects across their nine colleges and the current status. On March 28th join us to learn the inside story on the planning and execution of this massive building program, how it is transforming Los Angeles, and the future of our city’s educational oppporunities. This building program is updating 40+ year old building stock of classrooms, science labs, and job training equipment while the campuses continue to operate. In addition to building new buildings, this measure addresses urgent and basic repairs such as removing asbestos and lead paint, upgrading electrical wiring, gas and sewer lines, fixing leaky roofs, and improving earthquake safety to make our local colleges clean and safe for learning. Mr. Salazar will provide an overview of the bond funding program and its goals for improving facilities across the 9-campus community college system.

About the Speaker:

David Salazar is the Chief Facilities Executive for the Los Angeles Community College District.  He began his career in city planning, and has a combined 27 years of facilities planning, design, and construction experience with public and private universities and community colleges.
